“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure” - Yotam Ottolenghi once said. The Malasaña

neighborhood near the Tribunal and Bilbao metro stops are well known for its rows of Thrift Stores and Vintage Shops. From Halloween costumes to normal everyday outfits, people come out to Calle de Valverde to shop and discover some vintage treasures. Here are five stores you should visit when you’re in Malasaña.

1. Alphaville- Calle de Velarde, 16, 28004 Madrid

What’s special about Alphaville is that there is a

store across from the main one dedicated to all

things sports. From american football varsity jackets

to soccer jerseys, this is the store you need to go to

if you are a huge sports fan. I was lucky enough to

find a Real Madrid Jersey from its 2014-2015 season for only 15 euros. It was still in good condition and much cheaper than a regular jersey for this season.

2. Flamingos Vintage Kilo- Calle del Espíritu Santo, 1, 28004 Madrid

This store isn’t on Calle de Valverde, but it is just the street next to it. If you are looking to buy a whole new wardrobe and interested in purchasing a lot, this shop allows you to buy by the kilograms. They have everything from denim jackets/shorts to Hawaiian shirts. In the shop, there are different racks with pricing on them. For example, when I went, the denim jackets rack was 39 euros per kilogram.

3. Aramayo Vintage Clothing- Corredera Alta de San Pablo, 2, 28004 Madrid

The setup in the store is very nice. In the middle of its store is a step to enter the women’s section. In the front of the store, there are various racks with different kinds of jackets ranging from retro to leather.

4. Biba Vintage: Local 4, Calle de Velarde, 1, 28004 Madrid

As soon as you walk in, you will see such a gorgeous set up and mural on its walls. The design is creative and very beautiful. The store is small, simple and clean with most clothes focused on retro jackets, sports varsity jackets and clothes with lots of color. Once you walk in, the white walls bring out the colors in the store and it is very cool.

5. El Rincon de Tia Jo- Calle de 5. Velarde, 4, Local 1, 28004 Madrid

This shop is very specified for female clothing. From dresses to headbands, they have all the clothes and accessories needed for your next outfit. One element that is special to this store is that they have fur coats. The ones with real fur cost more but the price is definitely less than the normal new ones you would buy at the stores.

Thrifting in Madrid sounds like an absolute dream for anyone who loves unique textures and vintage aesthetics. I love the idea of mixing second-hand gems with iconic staples like a Beth Dutton Blue Coat for a truly personalized style. It is great to see how modern retailers like America Outfits are influenced by these timeless silhouettes that we often hunt for in those charming hidden thrift shops.

The overall layout feels consistent and easy to follow. Older content available on sultan33 sets the context nicely, while ongoing manga updates are explained clearly on sultan33. For a complete and tidy reference, sultan33 fits well.
